Save Our Ostriches
Surprise, surprise the Canadian Government is out of control.
If you were born in the 80s or prior (maybe 90s?) you probably remember the chicken pox parties. Word would get out that someone in your neighbourhood or class had contracted that pesky virus and next thing you knew, you were hanging out with some kid you’ve never even spoken to before. Or, if you were lucky one of your siblings or cousins or whoever it was got the scratchy little bumps and you knew, you were next. You’d be a little uncomfortable for a couple of days—or if you’re my sister very much so—miss some school and that would be that. Your lifetime pass was stamped and you never had to think about chicken pox again.
It was a simple exchange. You get the virus once and gain natural immunity for life.
Somehow with the rise of the information age we’re more educated than ever but we’ve traded our common sense for the declarations of self-obsessed ‘experts’ thus losing much of our innate intelligence. Time-tested wisdom has no place in a technocratic world. Today we’re told natural immunity is nothing more than a conspiracy theory.
Ever since COVID-19 when government officials realized how far they could extend their power and increase their relevancy under the guise of an ‘emergency’ they’ve been high on their own supply. Across the Western World, society has been captured by a bureaucratic dictatorship whose only accomplishment is finding ways to increase their power and overreach despite their failure to solve even a single problem. Not one. They have the uncanny skill of failing upwards in a way entirely unique to their sector.
As we’re increasingly taxed into oblivion and feel the chokehold of lost liberties, career bureaucrats are having a really good time.
No where is this more evident than the Canadian Food Inspection Agency who seems to have forgotten they work for Canadians. Not the United Nations and not their subsidiaries like the World Organization of Animal Health. Somehow, somewhere they’ve managed to acquire for themselves near unlimited power that has gone nearly unchecked.
Which brings us to Universal Ostrich Farms.
This story begins at the end of a dead end road, in remote British Columbia. Here lives the owners and caretakers of Universal Ostrich Farm along with some 400 ostriches. Ostriches are the largest bird on the planet standing some 2.7m tall and weighing an average of 159 kgs (350lbs). They are a flightless bird and part of the Ratities family. These incredibly robust birds can easily live 50 years in captivity and mate well into their golden years.
Universal Ostrich Farm’s flock is also very unique as they carry the antibodies for not only H1N1 but also COVID-19. And the Canadian Government wants to kill them.
In 2020, a virus hit the farm and they lost ten birds. When they realized their flock was sick, they had a tissue test done which came back positive for Pseudomas Bacteria which is very serious. Tissue tests are considered the ‘gold standard’ of testing. Remember this. It will become relevant very shortly.
Due to their geographic location and the fact that the birds are flightless it was very easy for them to quarantine their flock along with other measure to mitigate the risk. The survivors, having gained natural immunity, were more robust than ever.
In 2024, similar symptoms presented themselves and the same safety measures were taken. This time however, an “anonymous tip” was sent to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) who immediately suspected Avian Flu. Upon further discussion, they determined based on the symptoms and behaviour of the disease, that it wasn’t likely H1N1 but they wanted to come to the farm for testing to ensure this to be the case.
Two agents arrive in hazmat suits and conduct PCR tests on two dead animals. That’s it. The PCR test that’s notorious for its false positives and ineffectiveness—on dead animals on a property where migrating mallard ducks live. That’s what we’re supposed to trust.
The next day, December 31, 2024 the family is informed that their entire flock is set to be destroyed.
Remember, these are stationary, flightless birds in a remote location. They did not test any live animals. They did not conduct a tissue test which is the veterinarian gold standard. They only tested two dead birds on a property full of migratory birds.
Oh, and the birds are solely used for research. They and their progeny are not part of the food supply. They are advancing science around natural and herd immunity and making massive strides in antibody research.
Three years ago they transformed their farm into a scientific living laboratory. Partnering with Japanese scientist, Doctor Yukomoto and American Doctor Sue Greenberg they founded Strothio Bioscience which focuses their studies on antibodies and ostriches’ robust immune system.
During the appeal process between CFIA and Universal Ostrich Farm the department requested access to the farm’s business plan, scientific work in progress regarding antibodies and all research materials and literature. When pressed if this would help save their birds, the family was reassured it would.
Their research has found a way to use antibodies to neutralize COVID-19 and its variants as well and H1N1. It could revolutionize the way we approach pandemics and outbreaks and they are ready for their next phase of testing.
Their fatal mistake was reaching out to the government to inform them on their findings in the hope that the government could contribute. Their findings could be applied to the treatment of viruses well into the future.
I’m from the government and I’m here to help…
In their most recent outbreak (December 2024) they lost 69 animals. Not one of the ostriches who’d been exposed to the 2020 bacteria got sick. Every one of their elder ostriches came out unscathed. They had achieved natural immunity. Their new, younger birds were vulnerable but once the crisis passed, the nearly 400 surviving birds have now, also received the benefits of natural immunity.
Despite over three months with zero deaths and zero symptoms the CFIA is insisting their kill order be carried out. This decision holds despite the recovery numbers and despite the fact that to this date only the two PCR tests, on dead birds, have been conducted. Remember when the government conducted PCR tests on dead patients and when it came out positive declared it a COVID death even when they died from something completely different? This is the same thing.
The family has fought to have third party, tissue testing done and they’ve been told under not circumstances is this to take place. They have been threated with a $200,000 fine and/or six months in jail PER TEST if conducted. They are forbidden from conducting tests on their own birds!
During farm visits officials have inquired to the location of the antibodies and scientific research and the family has been informed that not only will the animals themselves be destroyed but also, all related bi-products and research as well. The government didn’t conduct a vet check and the farm’s vet found no H1N1. They did not collect any bacterial cultures, water samples or soil samples. They only want the birds.
If you’re wondering how this is scientific, it isn’t.
It’s part of a stomping out policy set by the United Nations’ World Health Animal Organization that calls for a zero H1N1 policy predicated on trade agreements. This is the premise used to cull tens of millions of birds (low estimate) across North America in the last year. This is why egg prices have skyrocketed and in certain parts of the United States cannot be found on the shelf. And this is why we need to ask, who’s running this operation anyway?
Zero H1N1 is impossible where migrating birds exist and while trade agreements have been the government’s primary argument in their persistent fight to eradicate this flock, it was disclosed in court last week, that Canada hasn’t held the zero infection status for years (because it’s impossible) and there have been zero cited trade disruptions as a result.
Meanwhile, the science they are fighting so hard to destroy has already created H1N1 antibodies ready for use and they are working on ways to distribute them to migratory birds when they pass through farms. They have been tested, successfully as an alternative to the experimental MRNA vaccine without the same potential risks.
Healthy survivors and the humans who work with them go against the government plans to push the vaccines for bird flu because the government does not work for its people. It works for big pharma and research like this stands in their way.
The ‘one health initiative’ is set by the United Nations and its subsidiaries and calls for the same approach to be taken by all member states for everything. Gone are the days when countries make their own decisions based on their understanding of what is correct. As sovereign nations this is their right but in 2025 sovereignty is a dying concept that citizens must demand and insist upon because otherwise, we are lost.
When you cull a flock that has developed immunity to various diseases you also lose the genetic upgrade that comes with it. Each time you have to start your flock from scratch and the result is less robust birds who are more prone to disease than the ones they replaced.
If natural immunity is lost, we become less equipped when each new challenge arises and every new disease will be met with nothing but fear, mass slaughter, and further destruction leaving us more vulnerable than ever. (Katie Pasitney, Universal Ostrich Farm)
Remember, during COVID, when the Canadian Government tried to gaslight the public into believing natural immunity was just a conspiracy theory? Yeah, me too. Despite ominous threats that the unvaccinated would face a ‘winter of death’, we’re all still kicking and most of us healthier than ever.
But we’re right back where we started and like before, it’s because they want to push pharmaceuticals and appease their one world daddies. The United Nations is not Canada. The World Health Organization is not Canada. The World Economic Forum is not Canada. There’s not amount of fear and propaganda that is going to change that.
Despite an aggressive stomping out policy year after year, the Avian Flu numbers continue to rise. Their current approach does not work.
Last week, the farm and the government stood head to head in court. This week, the judge is deliberating. The original cull date was set to February 1st, 2025 and thankfully, they were able to get an injunction which brings us up to current events. It was Justice Battista who granted the right to a judicial review and protected the herd until the current CFIA appointed judge could make its determination. The original ruling was challenged by CFIA accusing the court of overreaching and stating he erred in the interpretation of the law. What kind of unfettered mandate does the CFIA have that this is the first time they are truly challenged in court?
Last week’s court hearings revealed a lot. The government didn’t follow its own guidelines or definitions. They did not act in good faith. The destruction of the birds would result in the loss of rare, valuable genetics. There hasn’t been any adverse trade effects from H1N1 and Canada hasn’t had a zero status in years. The government wasn’t even up to date on the current policies set by the WHOA.
And on it goes. They made their case the best they could. Now it’s up to the judge.
The fight for Universal Ostrich Farm isn’t just a fight to save 400 healthy birds though, that would be enough. It’s a fight for the preservation of science and the protection of our food supply. It’s a demand that we reassert our sovereignty and moving forward, require our government to bring its policies in from global mandates and back home, to the interest of Canadians.
This case will be precedent setting in many ways including the right for owners to test their animals, whether or not CFIA has to follow due process, the validity of their current approach in general.
